School has been an interested ball of wax lately. Our principal resigned before Christmas, which to some was a good thing and to others was bad. I think it was a good thing for all. My principal was a smart young AA woman with two young children and a husband that also has a carrer. This new job will allow her to make more money and be home with her family more. We were led to believe both by her and other members of the A-team both before break and after break that the leadership and direction of the school would rest in the hands of the leaders that were already at the school and new it well. On Wed of last week someone from Central Admin. came over and stated that they were interviewing and it could be as soon as two weeks or May when someone was placed as our new principal. Karen was named lead admin, Mary was named in charge of all CI and Gary will "round out the triangle". We were ALL (includeing the a-team) shocked and not pleased. What I saw happen in the next seven school days was hard and sad. Some cloose friends, who are leaders and teachers were crying, yelling, walkin' out of school, talking about quitting, fighting with others on the staff, talking about others, and becoming apathatic. Well.....
Yesterday was a half-day and at the end of the half-day there was a Jerry Maguire meeting or for those of us that are not huge movie buffs a "Come to Jesus Meeting" and it was led by the rounder of the trinangle, who is a great speaker and leader. Many left feeling yelled at, or the hammer falling on them. I left feeling good and excited about the Change that is Gonna Come! Something the Lord has really been teaching me over the last three year in paticular is that you MUST acept the things that you can't change and work on what you can change. You are responsible for you, not what ANYone else does or doesn't do. That is so hard to really believe and live out, especially when you see injustice, wrong doing, or you know you could do a better job.
I hope that what this means is that we are going to have a school run by professionals that care and will do what they belive is right until the Lord places someone else in a position of leadership over them. "I do not know what tomorrow holds, but I will put my faith in the one who does"
